With a variety of handy tools and great services available, it’s never been easier to travel around by public transport. New technology means you don’t have to wait around at bus stops, many buses and trains now have WiFi on board, cashless ticket options and more!
The closest traditional bus stops to Wynyard Village can be found on Wynyard Woods, just a short walk away. Stagecoach services X40 and X41 connect Wynyard with Stockton. X40 runs via Billingham and Wolviston, while X41 uses the A19. Wynyard Woods is served by X41. Service frequency varies by stop and time of day; check the current timetable for your journey.

If your journey is over a slightly longer distance, travel by rail can be a great option! Billingham is the closest train station to your new home and it can be accessed by bike in around 20 minutes, or just 10 minutes by car. Billingham is on the Durham Coast line, with Northern services towards Middlesbrough and Newcastle via Hartlepool and Sunderland. Frequencies and direct services vary, so check the current timetable and journey planner for your destination; other destinations may require a change.

Key Local Bus Services
Service X40 / X41
Services X40 and X41 are a partnership between Stagecoach, the Tees Valley Combined Authority, Stockton Borough Council and Hartlepool Borough Council. X40 connects Wynyard and Stockton via Billingham and Wolviston, while X41 uses the A19. Wynyard Woods is served by X41.
Services operate Monday–Saturday, with buses up to every 30 minutes at selected shared stops. Frequency varies by stop and time of day; Wynyard Woods is served by X41 and has fewer departures. Check the current timetable for your journey.

Paying for your Journey
Catching the bus or train no longer has to mean fumbling around for change before hopping on to pay the driver or conductor in a rush! There are so many different ways to pay for your journey now that you may feel a little spoilt for choice!
It’s also important to check that you aren’t paying too much. Whilst paying for single or return tickets is OK for occasional or one off journeys, those who travel more frequently by bus and/or rail can save some significant cash by choosing monthly or annual passes.
